Check out the broker’s track record. Here are some questions to ask:

• Has the broker actually seen the equipment you are being offered? Can you inspect the equipment he/she is offering you?

• Where is the broker's facility? Does the broker have a brick and mortar operation with support staff, equipment and inventory or is he operating out of the trunk of his car with a web page and a cell phone as his only capital investment?

• Does the broker understand your requirements and application? What after sales support and warranties will you receive? Speak to the broker’s technical and support staff to gauge their knowledge and understanding of your requirements.

• Ask his contemporaries in the business their opinions of his performance and character.

• How long has the broker been in this business? How long has he or she been selling used printers and copiers?

If you are dealing with a reputable broker with a good track record, the purchase of used equipment can be a pleasant and profitable experience.
